 Terms and Conditions
All lots will be sold to the highest bidder. Successful bids are subject to a 20% Buyer's Premium. Buyers situated in the E.U. will be charged 17.5% VAT on both the Hammer Price and the Buyer's Premium. E.U. buyers who are registered for VAT can have this VAT rate reduced to zero on submission of their registration number. Buyers situated outside the E.U. will not be charged VAT but we must retain proof of export, otherwise VAT will be payable. This means that prints must be sent by us and cannot be collected if no VAT has been charged. (Auction Ukiyo-e V.A.T. No 769 6703 75)
All lots are sold as genuine Japanese woodblock prints and are described in respect of quality of impression, colour and condition and are not subject to return for any reason other than disputed authenticity. If in the buyer's opinion there is an error in the judgment of the Auction in respect to the authenticity of a lot, he/she may refer judgement to a mutually acceptable authority for authentication. The buyer must first notify the Auction within 7 days of receipt of the lot of his/her intention to seek an independent opinion. All expenses for authentication shall be borne by the purchaser. Should any lot for which an independent opinion is sought prove to have been incorrectly authentified by the Auction, refund will be made for the full amount of the purchase price.
The following categories of lots are not subject to return under any circumstances:
(a) Lots described as being late editions, facsimiles or reproductions.
(b) Lots described as having faults or defects.
(c) Lots containing six or more items
(d) Lots described as "A/F" (as found)
The Auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot from sale, for whatever reason and to act on behalf of the Vendor in the sale of his/her property. |
