Auction Procedures

• We are pleased that you have joined us and hope that you will enjoy bidding for genuine antique Japanese works of art. Before placing a bid, you will need to register for a client number.

• When you place a bid, you are entering the maximum price you would pay for an item. This amount is kept secret. The item price will be increased to the next minimum increment. When another bidder increases the bid price, bids will be automatically made on both parties' behalf until one bidder's maximum price is reached. The new current bid will be one increment above the lower maximum bid. In the case of a tie for the highest bid, the earlier bid takes precedence.

• All bids must be in minimum increments (increases) of £5.00 (sterling). When the bidding reaches £200.00, the minimum increase becomes £10.00. Above £500.00, the minimum increases need to be £25.00. Above £1,000.00, the minimum increases need to be £50.00.

• You will be notified by email if your maximum bid is outbid by another bidder.

• A 20% Buyer's Premium will be applied to all successful bids. For all E.U. situated bidders VAT of 17.5% will be charged on the Buyer's Premium and on the Hammer Price.
